About

    Who we are

We are a self-funded organization with no shareholders and we serve no private interests, operating just for the benefits of the members of the 3 services (Kenya Army, Kenya Navy and Kenya Airforce).

Profits made are ploughed back and the balance is used to fund various social welfare projects such as; construction of churches, mosques, swimming pools, gymnasiums, sponsoring KDF sporting events and Ulinzi sports teams.

Our Mission

To deliver efficient personalized service to Kenya Defence Forces, Veterans and their families to enhance their wellbeing and quality of life.

Our Vision

A leading provider of exceptional customer centric services to the Kenya Defence Forces, Veterans and their families, setting the highest standards of care, convenience and support.

Our purpose

Generally, having a purpose is what gives everyone a reason to get out of bed every morning. For our organization, our purpose is what gives us a reason for existence and it enables us to put more effort in our day to day activities. As John F. Kennedy once said, ‘Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.’ Therefore, DEFCO’s purpose is to:

  • Provide welfare services for members of Kenya Defence Forces at those locations approved by the DEFCO headquarters.
  • provision items required for messing of service personnel which are not provided in the official ration scales
  • Operate canteens or offer other services when requested to do so by a unit commander with the approval of the appropriate service Headquarters
